HUMAN RESOURCES CHECKLIST
Human Resources (HR), is a crucial part of any business plan. The ability of your business to reach its objectives is linked to the effective management of your people.
The people who work for you are your most important asset responsible for:
– Achieving your financial goals
– Achieving your production goals
– Increasing opportunities to sell products and provide services
– Increasing their own skills and abilities
When writing a business plan the HR section should include names, qualifications and backgrounds of the owners and senior staff.
You should also list any perceived human resources management deficiencies in the business and how these will be resolved. For instance, either by subcontracting or engaging part-time staff.
Useful questions to answer:
– Do you have productivity incentives?
– Do you recognize achievements?
– What is your training policy?
– How do you involve your employees in:
1- Decision making?
2- Planning?
3- Job design?
4- What is employee morale like? Is it monitored and managed?
So, Human resources is the set of people who make up the business. It is also referred as manpower, human capital, the knowledge and skills which the individuals command.
Never underestimate the importance of the Human Resources sector in your company as it can make or break your business.
